When I’m telling you in my personal opinion like this is way better than Duolingo hundred percent!!! not hating btw!

I used to use Duolingo, thinking it would help me during traveling and talking to my family, but it never did anything really. All Duolingo did was help me with simple words and since I usually remember by saying something out loud, speak helped really me. It’s a really good app if you’re looking for something easy and quick to know. Hope this helped!

It’s great you learn few vocabs but you really focus on them so you’re less likely to forget them it’s especially good if you’re trying to learn Mandarin (Chinese simplified)

The first time I used it I thought it was bad due to the fact it would just expect you to remember stuff but now that I use it again I really like at and it teaches me slot I think pink it will help me eventually help me get a Japan citizenship

If you’re serious about learning a language then this is definitely worth the payment. I’m pretty skeptical of apps for language learning so before this I have been doing comprehensible input for a bit, I’ve done language transfer by mihalis, and I try to read short stories in Spanish. Those things have all been great foundations (I would highly recommend them) but this is actually giving me the confidence for my language learning to spill out and move along. Currently doing Spanish and feel so happy having progress daily and I’m excited to try Mandarin Chinese soon as I also have studied it for some time but struggle to get a sentence out.

It’s is helpful so far. I am a no sabo Puerto Rican male so I need to learn.

This app is a really good app to use if you want to learn spanish and expand your knowledge. Personally i like this app because it allows me to have conversations , say “spanish phrases” aloud and many more.

Learned more in a week on here then I did when I did Duolingo for 2 months

I love this so much it really helpful what i don’t like you have to pay for it I feel like it should be free for at least 1 month

This makes me feel so comfortable and I get to learn how to speak fluently

At first, I thought it was just another language learning app. But Speak has proved me wrong. It was better than my tutor. It was better than my old Spanish apps, and you can learn anything on it, and it actually gets the information stuck in my head. 😇😀😃😄😁😆☺️😌🥳

I tried many apps and out of them all I am really enjoying the Speak app. There is one other app that is almost as good but I keep coming back to this one. I have learned a lot so far and we will see how it goes after a couple of months.

It feels like Duolingo but better with more speaking!!

It’s been so fun so far and I feel like I’m learning it and it makes me feel like I’m getting real help I honestly think it’s better than Duolingo but his need to be at least top 3 in apps and if it is it’s well deserved I got bored of Duolingo fast or it would be so much harder but now it’s easier and fun so ty to who made this!

I enjoy having conversations with the app that would most likely occur in real time. The combinations of words and sentences are helping me learn quicker than single word lessons.

Speak is easy and fun to use. It’s up beat and it’s easy to learn to speak in sentences very quickly.

My first 20 minutes on the app have been exceptional

Because I didn't have anyone to talk to in Japanese, I would easily forget what I'd learned, but this is amazing, and I can already remember sentences well.

You have to pay but it really does teach you a lot and really well. My favorite feature is the little mascot ai that you can ask any questions about language and it gives you a detailed answer and makes learning modules using your questions.

The way this curriculum is built goes absolutely perfect with the way it’s taught. I was born and raised in California and across 30 years trying to pick up some level of survivable Spanish? No dice. 8 days on this app and I’m forming sentences with confidence.

This app uses a very gentle social pressure with its pace, it moves you along kindly and really helps drill the core concepts. I’ll be back to review again in a year to see how much I was able to learn!

Speak is more challenging than I thought it would be, but it really makes me have to practice speaking instead of just recognizing vocabulary.

I have been using Speak for 5 weeks now. I love the custom lessons that are built for you as you progress through the units. This is a very solid resource. Speaking the language is the primary way to learn it, along with fully immersing yourself in content from the specific language that you are learning!

Out of all three of Speak, Pimsleur, and Duolingo (don't ask why I call it Duoflop), I think Speak is the best. In Pimsleur, you have to PAY to learn, and Duoflop doesn't even teach you correctly and they're basically an "AI first" type app. Sticking to Speak.

Better than the rest of the apps out there I love the repetitive nature to really drill it into you to remember. And the interface of the app is great. Keeps me wanting to comeback for more I do wish it was a little cheaper though.

I’ve been using Babel Spanish daily for a year but felt disappointed in my ability to actually speak. First, I added LanguTalk to my daily lessons but while a powerful AI app, it seems more targeted to the advanced intermediate. I love it but I recently added Speak to my learning routine and have been really impressed. Speak makes you practice speaking casual, day to day Spanish. It provides lots of feedback on pronunciation and loops through the material well. I think it is now my most important tool.

It’s worth it if you pay but if you don’t pay, it’s not

This is exactly what I have been looking for an interactive way to practice speaking out loud. I took a five years of Spanish in high school, but never felt comfortable speaking. After completing my first course, I can’t wait to dive into more contact because I’m learning so fast.

It doesn’t force you to get the membership there are no ads and it’s fun learning.

Free version is nice but the subscription is very pricey and would help more. The price is gatekeeping the real progress

Speak is a pretty good app, but even when im speaking, it doesn’t recognize what i. Saying, which is a bit annoying. I have been screaming hello in korean at my ipad for 10 minutes. I sound like a mad man.

No shade to Duolingo. But this app helps me WAY WAY WAY more 😭🫶🏾

This is actually really good, and you can do the learning without permimum. Obv you won’t get eveything but it’s still good.

I’ve been on duo lingo for two years and haven’t seen a lot of progress but I’ve learned more Japanese on speak in three lessons than I have over two years on duo lingo .

So I don’t like how it makes you pay to learn but other than that you can skip the paying part and learn it will teach you the basics first it’s a really fun way to learn

well, to start off you get to pick for from very general languages and I’ve realized that you do a lesson with a person video and then you have a review on what you learned so you keep reviewing and if you want to review it again you can like save it so you can review it and I think this is way better than Duolingo because you’re actually speaking and you don’t have to like type and you’re actually having full conversations so if you’re looking for a better alternative to Duolingo, I recommend this

I bought this app based on social media ads. It’s been awesome! I took 3 years of Spanish in high school (which was almost 20 years ago) but what I love is that it actually gets you listening and speaking instead of just reading and writing.
Also easy to use when I’m driving! So it’s great to do if you have time on a commute. I’d recommend to anyone!

I think this is the first review I’ve ever left for an app. This app has been such a game changer for me. I ended up purchasing the subscription (by accident lol) but I’m absolutely going to be renewing next year. I’ve always wanted to be a polyglot and I’ve made progress on my own with Spanish and Japanese, but classes are expensive and self teaching can be hard.
Now this app isn’t the *only* thing I use to learn languages, but it has become one of the more useful tools in my arsenal. Languages really are use it or lose it, and this allows me to practice my speaking and comprehension wherever and whenever. The free talk is so so helpful.
I’ve never been confident in my Spanish, and now I’m speaking (very basic) Spanish with customers and friends!! My only complaint is that there aren’t more languages on here yet. While the languages offered are great, I wish there were more options like Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, or Tagalog. I know more languages will be available with time, but I am absolutely foaming at the mouth for more options since that has been so helpful for me in such a short span of time lol. I’ve even got my friends and coworkers using the app 😂

This app is very fun and makes learning a language easy and fast. This is way better than Duolingo because it teaches you things at a quick yet understandable pace. I like it and it’s free too!!!!

I am enjoying using the Speak app to learn Italian and I plan to use it to refresh my Spanish before traveling this summer. The audio and visual portions of the learning program are exactly what I need. It helps to hear the professor talk back to me with the proper accent.

Bite sized pieces easily digested. I am getting more confident in actual conversation!

I never write reviews, but I felt compelled to do so for Speak, as I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and I am amazed at how I’m retaining the Spanish I’m practicing. Much better than Duo Lingo or other competitors.

I do wish they could adapt to different regions however because I notice the Spanish is focused on speaking in Mexico but I’m trying to learn Puerto Rican Spanish.

First app that doesn’t make me feel like a kid actually helps you speak wise and pronunciations highly recommend

This app is comprehensive, and especially useful for practical use when prepping to visit a new place or doing deeper study into a language. The only thing I can ask for is to make lessons downloadable - difficult given the LLM is working in real time but perhaps having preset responses and recognition for a set number of phrases could be a solution rather. It would be less powerful but still helpful when trying to practice, I frequently lose service and find myself unable to practice at all. Other than that this app is fantastic.

This is really cool and it lets you choose if you want to talk or not and also you don’t have to wait so long to. Like for Duolingo, you have to pay to keep going, but this you don’t have to pay to keep going. I think this is really cool and whoever made this idea it’s really smart idea. I had started this and I’m doing good so far! 5/5 stars for me!❤️

This app is an amazing experience, and it helps me memorize Spanish in ways I couldn't do on my own. I can finally speak to my family and friends, and be able to understand and respond.

i used the app to speak to my step dad that speaks Spanish and I can actually have a real conversation with him. This app helps me so much, I can talk to him way more now instead of my mom translating for him.

As a heritage Spanish speaker I can understand a lot of Spanish, but this app has been extremely helpful in helping me become a fluent speaker in Spanish. Would highly recommend.

I was on Duolingo for almost 3 years and I have learned more on this app in the past month. It teaches you real sentences and words and communication.

I took Spanish classes for seven years, I used Duolingo, I used Pimsleur, and I tried apps where I could speak to other people — and yet I still struggled to speak and understand. This app is like having a personal tutor, without the anxiety of an actual person judging your skills.

I was doing Duolingo for FIVE years and I STILL could NOT speak French. I downloaded this app and at first I was like "wow you have to pay 80-120 a year?" Then I played this for one day and already knew like 5 sentences. Now I've been doing it for 3 days and I can order a table at a restaurant, ask for the check, order water and lemonade in Italian. No ads either. It's fun unlike Duolingo.

Really cool immersive experience, I like being able to listen and immediately use what I'm learning. I like the way this is structured, and this is coming from someone who has a 1,000 day streak on Duolingo.

this language app is a lot better than uhhh the green owl let's say. I actually remember more in one session than in one week like Duolingo. Duolingo taught me how to say "horse" in French before teaching me how to say "how are you?" in French. But this app gets straight to the point and the lessons are short and easy.

I used Duolingo for a very long time and couldn't conversate with anyone. I started Speak a week ago and now i can have a basic conversation with people already. Super impressed.

I absolutely love this app. There have been so many other apps that I've tried like Duolingo and Mango. They help me learn sure, but I feel this one is the best so far. They give you basically "tutors" to put it in a way. You speak the words and the app will give you feedback and I love it!

coming off a 666 day streak from Duolingo to this and i gotta say im enjoying this way more! its always saying things out loud that get me in my head, so its nice to get the practice right out the gate. the tutor tool is pretty sick, you can just talk to it and it gives you a lesson right then and there. im only 12 days in, but im having a great time with Spanish.

I’ve used Duolingo for years but I also started using Speak recently and my experience has been positive. It has a clean UI and a super simple setup. What I liked instantly: its syllable-based pronunciation feature and the fact that there is a person (AI or not, doesn’t matter) pronouncing it for you. So you can see and hear the pronunciations. Learning a new language becomes so much easier from the start because of it. It also didn’t need me to reach advanced levels within the learner path before it was revealed, which is a bonus. I have always wanted this feature but afaik Duolingo doesn’t offer it. So I already prefer Speak. Duolingo has a vast inventory of content so it definitely has its advantages but Speak is a strong competitor. I am so glad I came across this app on LinkedIn while reading a Forbes article about it. Please advertise it more. People need to know about the excellent techniques that this app offers.

I have been using Speak for a few months now learning French. I’ve tried Duolingo as well as over half of the major apps that pop up when you search “learn French” in the App Store. This has become by far my favorite app for a number of reasons. 1. This app focuses on speaking, one of the largest things I’ve struggled with in learning French. I could memorize vocabulary, but the second I hear it morphed in a sentence I would be lost. This app has improved that aspect so much for me. I am not yet fluent, but am able to pick out words and sayings on French videos and French hockey broadcasts now. 2. The ability to bookmark for later is a game changer for me. I have saved both sentences that I plan to use and things that I feel like I should know. This has allowed me to go back and study them, remember the vocabulary as well as the pronunciation. This allows these to become just stored in my mind where I don’t feel like I’m having to translate in my mind when I hear French. 3. Probably the most helpful tool is the free talk, as well as the ability to create your own lessons at the end of units. This has tailored the app to be personalized to me, and I’m learning about things that I’m actually going to use in conversation. All in all, this app wins in almost every single category compared to anything else I’ve tried. Merci beaucoup!!

I know a ton of Spanish vocabulary. I can actually comprehend it when I read it. But I've never had the confidence to speak it. I love that this app is taking me out of my comfort zone. It's forcing me to speak it. I've paired this up with Duolingo, which is greatly expanding my vocabulary. However, it fails in comparison to this app when it comes to actually SPEAKING Spanish. I highly recommend using both.

The absolute best Spanish app on Google Play! I have tried numerous Spanish learning apps and this one beats them all. I have learned more on this app in one week than I have with any other. The best feature is the AI Tutor. I can receive personalized help with things I have struggled to understand for so long. I am only using the premium version but I know it is worth every dollar spent because I am increasing my ability to speak Spanish fluently. I absolutely love this app.

I have been learning French for a number of years. I've tried so many apps, podcasts, classes, plus I've lived in France for four years. I can read a lot of French but when it comes to speaking and listening nothing has helped until Speak. The AI element is good and matches the other AI apps on the market but where I think it is better is the delivery of the lessons, the repetition and the personalised learning that you control.

This app is seriously amazing. I've always known enough Spanish to completely butcher it, and I would freeze up when I tried to talk to people. I'm on my 8th day and this program has given me so much confidence to practice with my coworkers. On day 5 I went into work and proudly told my friend Jorge my name, age, where I was from, who I lived with, how many pets I had and what I like to do. It's mind-boggling how AI has reshaped learning a language. 10/10 recommend.

By far the thing that is most helpful is the free talk option. The AI generated conversations are going to bridge the gap between the generic lessons you always get. These lessons, though helpful have never prepared me for real life conversations that are never "by the book" the free talk helps me to practice thinking on my feet and reading between the lines. The review afterwards is so helpful for those areas that I can speak but aren't technically correct. Game changer for sure!

FANTASTIC! People could think I'm sponsored by Speak with how much I rave about it. I'm on Duolingo, too (I recommend both), but Speak adds a critical element, SPEAKING. Specifically conversing. The paid version is so worth it. The AI is incredibly helpful. I love that I can create lessons tailored to my personal life, interests, job, etc. I also really enjoy speaking freely, and it explains my mistake. You can also ask it questions about grammar and whatnot. I could go on. 100/10 stars!!
